Water Pooling at the Slab
Drop a downspout right at the wall and you have just moved the problem to your foundation — the leading cause of settling cracks on Boulder City's older lots. Extensions carry it clear.
A gutter only matters as much as the downspout it feeds — and on Boulder City's older sloped lots, where the water ends up decides whether your foundation stays dry. We size and place downspouts to carry a monsoon surge well past the slab, and add aluminum or copper leaderheads that boost the catch at the outlet while finishing the look of the run.
On a Boulder City home the downspouts are quietly doing the hardest work. The trough catches the water, but it is the downspout count, the placement, and where the water finally lets out that decide whether a monsoon burst ends up in the yard or against the foundation. On the older townsite lots, which often slope back toward the house or toward a neighbor, that decision matters even more than it would on flat ground.
This is where a leaderhead earns its place. It is the funnel-shaped catch where the trough meets the downspout, and in a climate where rain comes as one hard surge rather than a steady feed, that wider mouth keeps the outlet from backing up and overflowing. It also happens to be the most visible piece of the system, which is why so many Boulder City owners choose copper here — a working part that doubles as trim.
We size the number and position of downspouts to your actual roof and run them out past the dripline with extensions, so the water leaves the building instead of circling back to the slab. New system or retrofit onto existing gutters, it begins with a free look first.

A long run delivers a monsoon surge faster than a bare hole can swallow it. A leaderhead widens the catch so the water goes down the spout instead of over the front edge.
Concentrated discharge with no extension cuts channels through rock and beds every storm season. Proper routing protects the yard along with the foundation.
On a Boulder City lot, especially in the older townsite where homes sit close and yards slope, a downspout in the wrong spot sends a monsoon surge toward a neighbor's foundation as easily as your own. We plan the drops to carry water downhill to the street or a swale and out past the dripline, so the surge clears every foundation on the block, not just yours.
Leaderheads come in two finishes here. Color-matched .032 aluminum disappears into the run while adding catch capacity, and on the historic-district homes a copper leaderhead is a period-correct touch that ages into a patina alongside the rest of the trim. Both do the same job at the outlet: catching a hard burst and feeding it down the spout instead of over the front edge.

Great from start to finish! We made appointments with Southwest and also another gutter company; Ryan from Southwest was able to come see us right away, we showed him the issues we were having with roof drainage, he came up with perfect solutions, and an instant quote, and we went with him immediately. Poor other guy never got a chance! The time to get the work done was out about 6 weeks which shows how busy they are due to the quality of the work. I couldn't believe how closely the gutters matched the house trim, and the downspouts matched the house paint, two different colors. It was raining the day the work was to be done but rather than call, Ryan came in person to let us know he would rather do it the next day when no rain was predicted so his adhesive would set properly. Better to do it correctly than quickly! He came back as promised and now it's done and looks perfect. Waiting for more rain to see how it performs but I have no doubt it will resolve our issues. Ryan is that guy that looks you right in the eye when he talks to you and shakes your hand when he's all done. Quote was reasonable and we are happy.
This is a second review. The heat, sun and dry air may have been a part to the minor issue I had. During a monsoon rain storm this season, I noticed some leaking at a couple joints at corners. I requested an appointment through the Web for possible repair. Within a day I was contacted by the office with a day and time. Ryan came as scheduled. He remembered the installation from a year ago. I showed him where the leaks were and he repaired the joints. I told him this was minor and didn't expect a repair. He told me he stands by installation work and will fix issues that may come up. He wants past and current customers to be happy. I am glad I found a business that takes pride in their work.
They were 5 weeks out, but what we wanted done on our house for gutters, he was able to complete it in a few hours and it looks great. Now I can't wait till we get a rain storm to see how well they do. The other thing is everyone we spoke to is very professional — that's a plus.
